Twilight Zone – Where Is Everybody?

Sock monkeys can fly too!

For my grand exercise I have decided to recreate the Pilot episode of the Twilight Zone: Where is Everybody?. Something like this takes more planning, experience and skill than I have, but I’m doing it anyway.

Breaking this project down into section is probably the best way to tackle this. As I see it I need:

  • Character design
  • Modeling
  • Storyboarding
  • Set design
  • Dynamics
  • Camera work
  • Lighting
  • Rendering
  • Audio extraction
  • After Effects

Having little to no experience in any of this stuff I’ll need to work on all of them at the same time. I think this will help me get a feel for what is doable and what isn’t. I’m already figuring out the best ways for me, on my 6-year old laptop, to create working renders of my scene and materials for quick progress checks without completely bogging down my computer such as setting up batch renders to run while I sleep.

Below is a screenshot of the Twilight Zone I’m going to tackle. Wish me luck!
